We relieve food insecurity among families and individuals within the Kings Local School District. Each month, we provide food for over 400 individuals. In 2023, we provided food for an estimated 61,000 meals.

OUR TEAM

We are led by a strong team of dedicated volunteers, board members and one paid staff member,

Traci Gaebel, our Executive Director (and our only paid employee,) leads a strong team of approximately 20 regular volunteers.  In 2023, these dedicated individuals put in over 4,300 volunteer hours in a variety of capacities including; meeting and serving our  clients, managing the stock room, picking up food donations, managing our website, and other tasks.

our history

The Kings Local Food Pantry has been serving the community since 1987. Under the leadership of former director, Pauline Holloway, KLFP regularly served 35 families out of a tiny room in the South Lebanon Fire Station. As the need continued to grow, KLFP moved to the current location where each month over 400 individuals and 140 families are served by a dedicated team of volunteers and staff committed to the fight against hunger.

our partners

Today, Kings Local Food Pantry is grateful for strong partnerships with United Way of Warren County and the Shared Harvest Foodbank.

United Way of Warren County, through the generosity of businesses in Warren County, provides funding to Kings Local Food Pantry to assist in our efforts in providing services to our clients.

Shared Harvest receives food donations from national food businesses and government agencies.  They then distribute them to local food pantries, like Kings Local Food Pantry.  Although there is no charge for the food itself, we must pay transportation and storage costs.  For every dollar donated to Kings Local Food Pantry, we can acquire groceries valued at ten dollars through Shared Harvest Foodbank.  This partnership provides Kings Local Food Pantry with access to food donations from food manufactures, wholesalers, retailers and farmers, for a handling of up to 18 cents per pound.
